BID INVITATION FOR:  Rutherford County Schools New Transportation and Maintenance Facilities and Existing Gymnasium Building Adaptive Reuse, 545 Charlotte Road, Rutherfordton, NC 28139

Bid Date & Time: Tuesday, June 20, 2023 at 3:30p.m., LOCAL TIME

Bid Location: Rutherford County Schools, 382 W. Main Street, Forest City, NC 28043 – Owner’s Representative: Mr. Brad Teague, Rutherford County Schools

All bids will be publicly opened and read aloud for the furnishing of labor, material & equipment on this date.

The work of project is defined by the Contract Documents and includes, but not limited to, the following scope: All labor, taxes, materials, equipment, services, permits, incidental and implied, to install a complete working system as designed.  The project generally consists of Phase 1 – approximately 22,500 sf new construction for the Transportation and Maintenance Facilities, Phase 2 – renovation – adaptive reuse of the existing three-story gymnasium, both located on the site of 545 Charlotte Road, Rutherfordton, NC 28139, and Phase 3 – restroom/concession addition at Chase Middle School and East Middle School.  The project includes all other work as shown, indicated or reasonably implied on the contract drawings and/or specifications for a complete project.

The featured scope of work per contract documents are as follows; Cast in place concrete, CMU, structural steel framing, steel decking, metal fabrications, metal pan stairs, pipe and tube railings, column covers, wood, plastics, and composites, thermal and moisture protection, hollow metal doors and frames, flush wood doors, stile and rail wood doors, access doors and frames, overhead coiling doors, sectional doors, aluminum-framed entrances and storefronts, door hardware, glazing (Incl. Fire-Resistant), acoustical underlayment, non-structural metal framing, gypsum board, ceramic tiling, ACT, resilient base and accessories, resilient tile flooring, tile carpeting, painting, panel signage, traffic signage, wall and door protection, toilet and bath accessories, fire protection cabinets, fire extinguishers, loading dock bumpers, stationary loading dock equipment, commercial washers and extractors, residential appliances, roller window shades, simulated stone countertops, solid surfacing countertops, walk-in coolers and freezers, metal building systems, vehicle lifts, bridge crane systems, fire suppression, plumbing, HVAC, electrical, communications, electronic safety and security, earthwork, exterior improvements, and utilities.

Hickory Construction Company, Hickory, NC is seeking subcontractors for specific scope of work as described above.
