Shook Construction/ Bid Package 15.01 – Influent Pump Station – Charlotte NC

Shook Construction is bidding on the above-referenced project as to the Construction Manager at Risk (CMAR), PC Construction, on Bid Package 15.01 – Influent Pump Station and is soliciting proposals from qualified minority and small businesses registered with the City of Charlotte.

Bid Package 15.01 – Influent Pump Station entails construction of a new Influent Pump Station and the surrounding sitework and yard piping. The Owner is exempt from Sales and Use Taxes on materials and equipment to be permanently incorporated in the Work. Accordingly, Contractor’s Bid shall not include such North Carolina Sales or Use taxes in the Bid amounts for items permanently incorporated into the Work, as these will be reimbursed separately. Contractor will be reimbursed for certain Sales or Use taxes paid to the State of North Carolina for building materials, supplies, fixtures and equipment that become a part of the work. The Project is part of the CWSRF program and compliance with Davis-Bacon is a requirement. In compliance with the City of Charlotte Business INClusion Program (“CBI”) this project has a goal of 10% of the total contract amount to be performed by M/SBE business.

Bid Package 15.01 bids August 17, 2022, at 2:00pm. We ask that you please submit your quote(s) no later than 10:00am EST on August 17, 2022, to allow for proper analysis and to allow for us to prepare the bid documents for submittal by the published bid time.

Scope items for Bid Package 15.01 – Influent Pump Station include: General Conditions, Sitework & Utilities, Demolition, Yard Piping, Soil Excavation & Backfill, Support of Excavation, Rock Blasting & Excavation, Dewatering, Erosion and Sedimentation Control, Hauling, Aggregate Supply, Temporary Seeding, Concrete Formwork, Ready-Mixed Concrete Supply, Reinforcing Steel Supply & Installation, Precast Concrete Supply, Masonry, Roof Joists & Metal Deck, Miscellaneous Metal Fabrications, Handrails and Railings, Gratings/Access Hatches/Access Doors, FRP Fabrications, Waterproofing, Dampproofing, Standing Seam Metal Roofing, Caulking & Joint Sealants, Doors/Frames/Hardware, Door Glazing, Overhead Roll-up Doors, Windows, Skylights, Field Painting & Protective Coatings, Metal Studs/Drywall/ACT, Architectural Finishes, Signage, Fire Extinguishers & Misc. Architectural Specialties, Cranes and Hoists, Pumps, Treatment Plant Equipment, Process Pipe/Valves/Gates, Pipe Supports, Pipe Insulation & Heat Tracing Systems.

Note: Bid documents must be handled according to the City of Charlotte’s Sensitive Information requirements. All companies interested in bidding on this project should have a completed Information Security Agreement form on file with the City of Charlotte. Shook Construction agrees to provide quick pay, within twenty (20) days after confirmation of work properly performed and completed, to all Minority and Small Business contractors and suppliers in connection with this contract. Interested subcontractors can also contact Shook Construction to obtain information or assistance regarding bonding and insurance requirements, including alternatives to bonding and/or insurance requirements for subcontractors if needed.
