Shook Construction-EM Johnson WTP Sludge Thickener No. 4 Project
Shook Construction is bidding as a Prime Contractor on the EM Johnson WTP Sludge Thickener No. 4 Project in Raleigh, NC. The project consists of construction of a new Sludge Thickener No. 4 and associated piping, modifications to the sludge thickener splitter box, addition of 1 new thickened sludge pump and replacement of 3 existing pumps, electrical and SCADA upgrades, modifications to piping at Thickener Building, and renovation of old chemical feed building into an operator break room.
This project bids on March 5, 2019 at 2:00 PM, but in order to analyze all quotes and assemble our bid submittal, we are requesting quotes be submitted no later than 10:00 AM.
I am writing to ask for your assistance in our efforts to encourage bidder participation of certified MBE, WBE, DBE & SBE (including SBRA) subcontractors and suppliers who might be capable and interested in submitting a bid for a portion of the work. While Shook Construction Co. does send project information to many firms directly, I have attached our invitation letter that can be forwarded to any interested parties affiliated with your organization giving them information on how to obtain bid documents. Shook Construction can provide assistance with bonding and insurance requirements, including alternatives to bonding and/or insurance requirements for subcontractors if needed. And to the extent feasibly possible, Shook will make reasonable exceptions to our prequalification processes for Certified MWBE businesses and offer practical options to assist Certified MWBE businesses with obtaining required credit necessary to perform the work.
