SUMMARY:Lexington Regional WWTP Solids Handling Improvements Project
DESCRIPTION:Shook Construction IS BIDDING\, as a Single Prime General Contractor\, on the Lexington Regional WWTP Solids Handling Improvements Project and is soliciting proposals from qualified disadvantaged\, minority\, female and small business enterprises. Quotes can be sent to estimating@shookconstuction.com. \n\nThe Project includes the improvements to the City’s wastewater treatment plant to include\, \n  \n\nDemolition of existing piping (to include process and storm drainage piping)\, wastewater process equipment\, existing sludge drying beds\, concrete pipe supports\, aluminum grating and structural supports\, asphalt pavement\, and concrete pads as indicated on the Contract Drawings. \n\n  \n2) Installation of upgrades to the Sludge Holding Tanks as shown on the Contract Drawings. \n  \n3) A new Dewatering and Drying Building complete as shown on the Contract Drawings.  \n  \n4) A new Dried Solids Storage Canopy complete as shown on the Contract Drawings. \n  \n5) Installing all yard piping to include process piping\, water mains\, and storm drainage piping; all \nfittings; valves; precast concrete manholes; and junction boxes as shown on the Contract      Drawings \n\n6) Coordinate with the selected System Integrator subcontractor to provide a fully functioning control system. The System Integrator shall be responsible for the provision of an integrated control system fully functioning in accordance with the requirements of the Contract Documents. \n  \nA mandatory pre-bid conference (for bidding Contractors) for the Project will be held at 10:00 a.m. on January 7\, 2026\, at the Purchasing Office\, City Hall\, 28 West Center Street\, Lexington\, NC 27292. Immediately following the pre-bid conference\, a site walk at the Lexington RWWTP (500 Glendale Road\, Lexington\, NC 27292) will take place. \n\nThis project will be financed in part or in whole by the State Revolving Fund loan and therefore is subject to the Federal laws and regulations associated with the funding program. Compliance with Davis-Bacon IS a requirement. American Iron and Steel (AIS) requirements apply to this Project. Wage rates for this Project are subject to the minimum wage rates for Water and Sewer Projects\, located in the SRF Contract Requirements section of the Contract Documents. \n\nOwner is not exempt from North Carolina state sales and use taxes on materials and equipment to be incorporated in the Work. Sales tax should not be included in the Bid.
