BIPOC Small Business Capital Access Program

LISC Virginia and the Women's Business Center of Richmond have partnered to deliver the BIPOC Small Business Capital Access Fund to provide capital and coaching to Black, Indigenous, or other People of Color (BIPOC)-owned small businesses in the Richmond area.

This program is designed to bridge racial gaps in capital access and technical assistance. Many BIPOC-owned businesses have been locked out of economic opportunity or marketed discriminatory banking products.

About the Fund

The BIPOC Small Business Capital Access Fund will provide 0% interest and no-fee loans from $10,000 to $50,000 to BIPOC-owned small businesses.

Funding can be used to unlock a business’s potential to grow, including:

  • Purchasing new equipment
  • Working capital
  • Contractor or receivable advances
  • Rehabbing commercial spaces
  • Refinancing high-interest debt, and more

Businesses must meet eligibility requirements to qualify.

Coaching Program

The WBC Richmond will deliver a coaching program will cover four critical areas of business. The group coaching cohort will meet twice monthly for two (2) hours. Confidential one-on-one business coaching will occur between each session according to the schedule agreed upon between the business owner and the business coach. Participating businesses will receive up to 24 hours of group training and 24 hours of one-on-one coaching over the course of six months.
