NHM Constructors, Inc. is actively seeking vendors, suppliers and subcontractors who are certified DBE/MBE/WBE. We are preparing to bid the following project and would like to have your quotation for any items in your line of work.

US-64 Intersections of US-64/US-276 (Hendersonville Hwy) and US-64/NC-280 (Asheville Hwy)
Grading, Drainage, Paving, Signals, and Culvert

ITEMS OF WORK: Hauling, concrete curb and sidewalk, curb ramps, concrete driveway, concrete islands, handrail, water & sewer installation, traffic signal installation, erosion control, landscaping, asphalt pavement, pavement markings, guardrail, traffic control.

IN ORDER TO FACILITATE AND ENCOURAGE THE INVOLVEMENT OF MINORITY BUSINESS ENTERPRISES IN THE HIGHWAY CONSTRUCTION PROCESS, IT IS THE POLICY OF THE NCDOT, DIVISION OF HIGHWAYS, THAT A SET OF PLANS AND PROPOSAL FOR EACH PROJECT TO BE LET WILL BE MAINTAINED FOR REVIEW BY ANY CONTRACTOR INTERESTED IN BIDDING UPON OR QUOTING WORK IN AN ADVERTISED PROJECT. THE PROPOSALS AND PLANS WILL BE AVAILABLE FOR REVIEW BEGINNING TWO WEEKS PRIOR TO THE DATE OF BID OPENING IN THE DIVISION 14 OFFICE WHICH WILL ADMINISTER THE CONTRACT. THE DEPARTMENT WILL, UPON REQUEST, MAKE AVAILABLE FROM ITS STAFF A PERSON TO EXPLAIN THE PROPOSED PROJECT AND TO ANSWER GENERAL QUESTIONS RELATING TO THE PROJECT. THE PLANS AND PROPOSALS CAN BE REVIEWED ANY TIME MONDAY THRU FRIDAY, EXCLUDING HOLIDAYS, BETWEEN THE HOURS OF 8:00 A.M. AND 4:30 P.M. IN THE DIVISION 14 OFFICE IN SYLVA, NC. IN ORDER TO HAVE A MEMBER OF THE STAFF EXPLAIN THE PROJECT AND/OR ANSWER GENERAL QUESTIONS PERTAINING TO THE PROJECT, PRIOR APPOINTMENTS MUST BE MADE BY CALLING THE DIVISION 14 OFFICE AT 828-586-2141.

The North Carolina Department of Transportation, in accordance with the provisions of Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 (78 Stat. 252, 42 US.C. §§ 2000d to 2000d-4) and the Regulations, hereby notifies all bidders that it will affirmatively ensure that any contract entered into pursuant to this advertisement, disadvantaged business enterprises will be afforded full and fair opportunity to submit bids in response to this invitation and will not be discriminated against on the grounds of race, color, or national origin in consideration for an award. NHM Constructors, Inc. strongly encourages all certified DBE/MBE/WBE firms to consider quoting on the above referenced project. We are also looking to use certified firms as 1st tier OR 2nd tier subcontractors. NHM Constructors, Inc. will consider offering assistance to DBE/MBE/WBE firms with regards to areas of obtaining necessary equipment, supplies, etc.
Subcontractors will be required to have the following minimum insurance limits for these projects: Workers Compensation – $500,000; General Liability – $2 million; Automobile Liability – $2 million; however; NHM Constructors, Inc. will work with Subcontractors to help meet our insurance and bonding requirements.
