An open pre-bid meeting will be held for all interested bidders on December 18, 2024, at 10:00a.m. In the Conference Room of Western Carolina University Facilities Mgt. Steam Plant, 111 Central Drive, Cullowhee, NC 28723. The meeting will address project specific questions, issues, bidding procedures and bid forms.

The Owner will receive sealed lump sum bids until the bid time and date at the location given below. Owner will consider bids prepared in compliance with the Instructions to Bidders issued by Owner, and delivered as follows:

Bids will be thereafter publicly opened and read aloud.
The work of this project is defined by the Contract Documents and includes, but not limited to, the following scope: All labor, taxes, materials, equipment, services, permits, incidental and implied, to install a complete working system as designed. The Killian Building HVAC Upgrades and Window Replacement (Phase 1) project includes replacing an existing 200-ton cooling tower and water-cooled chiller. Replace the existing steam system components including the steam condensate return unit, steam traps and steam-to-hot water heat exchanger. Replace existing refrigerant exhaust fan serving existing Chiller Room. Replace existing windows located throughout the original Killian building.
Hickory Construction Company, Hickory, NC is seeking subcontractors for a specific trade that covers the work described below.
Division 02 – Existing Conditions, Division 03 – Concrete, Division 04 – Masonry, Division 06 – Wood, Plastics, and Composites, Division 07 – Thermal and Moisture Protection, Division 08 – Openings, Division 09 – Finishes, Division 23 – Mechanical, Division 26 – Electrical, Division 28 – Safety, Division 31 – Earthwork, Division 32 – Exterior Improvements, Division 33 – Utilities, and any other division scope of work identified in the contract documents.
