Invitation to Bid for UNC Chapel Hill Avery Residence Hall Renovation

PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
Avery Residence Hall Addition and Renovation is a 5-story 68,000-SF building originally constructed in 1958. This renovation will include a new stair tower addition with an elevator to accommodate ADA accessibility. Other scopes include, site utility upgrades, mechanical and electrical upgrades. There are also structural and architectural finish upgrades.

Sealed bids from licensed contractors will be received on Friday, July 19, 2024, for Bid Package 2 and REBIDS for Package 1 for furnishing of labor, material, and equipment for the UNC_CH Avery Residence Hall Addition and Renovation. Bids will be received until 1:00 PM on bid day from prequalified subcontractors. Bids will be publicly opened at 1:00 pm at Giles Horney Building – Room 100A (Magnolia Room), located at 103 Airport Drive, Chapel Hill, NC 27599. Parking is available at the Giles Horney Building.

request and documents are dated 7/3/2024
• No addendum will be issued after 7/12/2024
• Minority Business Participation: All minority firms are encouraged to submit bids on the project. Bidders shall note that compliance with the North Carolina Statute 143-128.2 (c) are required for this project.

Bid Submission:
Option 1 – Bids may be mailed to LeChase Construction 320 Roney St, Suite 100, Durham NC, 27701. Mailed bids must be received by 10:00 am on July 19, 2024, for Bid Package 2 scopes and Bid Package 1 RE-BIDS.
Option 2 – Bids may be hand-delivered at the bid opening prior to 1:00 pm at Giles Horney Building – Room 100A (Magnolia Room), located at 103 Airport Drive, Chapel Hill, NC 27599. No bids will be accepted after 1:00pm.
