North Charleston, SC – NCSD Monorail System Upgrade – Felix C. Davis WWTP Main Pump Station

North Charleston Sewer District is seeking to perform a Monorail System Upgrade at the Main Pump Station at the Felix C. Davis WWTP, 1000 Herbert Street. The pump station was originally constructed in the mid to late 1960’s and then expanded in the mid to late 1980’s. The structural systems consist primarily of cast-in-place concrete walls and diaphragms below grade and concrete beams, columns, and slabs with infill masonry walls above grade. The exterior walls are clad with brick veneer. The goal of this project is to: (a) provide a new first floor level monorail system with a lifting capacity of 5 tons; and (b) extend the exterior structural steel of the first floor level monorail system to the exterior of the pump station. The upgrades to the monorail system will facilitate pump removal and replacement operations at the pump station.
