Shook Construction IS BIDDING, as the Single-Prime General Contractor, on the City of Reidsville Wastewater Treatment Plant Headworks Replacement Project and is soliciting proposals from qualified disadvantaged, minority, female and small business enterprises. The Project entails: the construction of a new headworks structure. The proposed system generally includes dual mechanical fine screens in parallel channels with screenings handling equipment, dual grit removal chambers with grit pumps and a grit classifier, a bypass channel with manual bar rack, a flow measurement channel, plus all gates, electrical, controls, piping, dumpster access drive, and related appurtenances to provide a complete system. The influent sewers will be re-routed to the proposed headworks structure.

I am writing to ask for your assistance in our efforts to encourage bidder participation of certified DBE, MBE, WBE & SBE/SBRA subcontractors and suppliers who might be capable and interested in submitting a bid for a portion of this project.

The Owner is not exempt from Sales and Use Taxes on materials and equipment to be incorporated into the Work.  Accordingly, Sales Tax shall be included in the Bid, including Sales and Use Taxes paid for items permanently incorporated into the Work. Subcontractors shall provide a certified sales tax statement with each and every pay application pursuant to Article 6.10 of the Modified Standard General Conditions of the Construction Contract.

This project will be funded in part or in whole from SRF funds administered by the NC Division of Water Infrastructure and therefore is subject to the laws and regulations associated with the funding program. Compliance with Davis-Bacon IS a requirement. American Iron and Steel (AIS) requirements apply to this Project.
