SGS Contracting/ NCCU – Hubbard Elevator Replacement & NCCU – Walker Elevator Replacement

There is no prequalification for these projects.

 

**These are two separate projects in different buildings.

 

Projects: NCCU – Hubbard Elevator Replacement

                 NCCU – Walker Elevator Replacement

 

 Bids Due – 6/19/2023 at 5pm

 

Sub Walkthrough 6/15/2023 at 9am

 

Project Description – Scope of work; The University has requested a project to replace all elevator components and the elevator car interior with recent code provisions. This requires architectural, mechanical, electrical and fire alarm work to comply with current NC Building codes as well as ASME and SCO guidelines.

 

-Addendum will be sent out on June 13th.

-There are liquidated damages.

-Bid worst case scenario.

-Include preferred brand alternates.

-Will need to coordinate parking. There are a lot of parking spaces.

-Keeping platform of all elevators and rails. Replacing walls, ceiling, and hoist.

-Asbestos on insulation, report will be available. – Hubbard

-No asbestos report (If there ends up being asbestos, a change order can be had). – Walker

-Roof access available (can crane equipment into dome on roof/attic floor).

-Mechanical room is upstairs.

-Want to start as soon as possible, especially demo in the summer.

-Include all info in schedule. Tell what we need to get it done at that time. Lay down area, etc.

-3 story structure with elevator pit.

-Move existing equipment in machine room and replace it.

-There is sound proofing behind the door. – Hubbard

-Replace swinging door with single slider. Possible masonry around the edges. – Hubbard

-Replace single slider door. Possible masonry around the edges. – Walker

-Re-feeding from main service panel board to elevator.

-Replacing panel to carry load.

-Panel EC is fed from elevator. – Walker

-F&I heat pump on the roof (should be able to fit on existing roof curbs).

-Need to identify basic sourcing and let know of any building notifications.

-Will provide photos on drainage, etc.

-New elevators up to code. Voice over IP, video, fire alarm, etc.

-Have add/alt to replace panels.


Scopes of work needed include Demolition, Flooring, Painting, Elevators, HVAC, and Electrical.

 

Estimated project start is ASAP.
